Order Sensei ("we", "our", "the app") helps you make food choices by analyzing menu photos. This policy explains what data we process, why we process it, and your options.

What We Collect

• Device ID: A random identifier to track your usage limits and subscription status. Not linked to your identity.
• Menu Photos: Photos you take or upload for analysis. Sent to our AI service, not stored permanently.
• Your Goals and Preferences: Objectives and preferences you set (for example "lose weight", allergies, avoid ingredients, medical-condition notes). Stored only on your device.
• Menu Scan History: Your past menu scan analyses. Stored only on your device.
• Subscription and Purchase Data: Product identifiers, entitlement status, renewal/expiration timestamps, and transaction state needed to grant access and enforce limits. Managed through RevenueCat and the app stores.
• Refund-Related Signals: If you request a refund in Apple App Store, we may send limited consumption signals (for example recent usage indicators for the related purchase) to Apple through RevenueCat to support Apple's refund decision process.
• Analytics Events: Product usage data (for example menu scan analyses started/completed, paywall events, screens viewed) to improve the app.
• Session Replay: We use privacy-safe session replay to diagnose UX issues. Text inputs and images are masked by default.

How We Use Your Data

• Analyze menu photos and provide food recommendations
• Enforce usage limits for free and paid tiers
• Process subscriptions, purchases, and restore flows
• Support store refund workflows and reduce fraud/abuse
• Improve app performance and fix issues

Health and Dietary Information

If you choose to enter allergy, dietary, or medical-condition details, this information may be considered sensitive in some jurisdictions.

• We use it only to personalize recommendations and safety flags
• We do not provide medical diagnosis or treatment based on this data
• We do not claim that app output is clinically accurate, complete, or appropriate for your condition

Safety Notice About AI Recommendations

Order Sensei can make mistakes. Always verify ingredients, preparation details, and cross-contact risk directly with restaurant staff before ordering or consuming food, especially if you have allergies or medical conditions. Do not rely on the app as your only source for medical or allergy safety decisions.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted services to provide our features:

• OpenRouter: AI processing for menu analysis
• Google Cloud: Text-to-speech for pronunciation
• RevenueCat: Subscription/payment management, store server notifications, and refund workflow handling
• Singular: Attribution and deep-link analytics
• PostHog: Product analytics, feature flags, and session replay
• Upstash: Usage tracking (device ID only)

These services have their own privacy policies. We only share the minimum data needed.

Data Storage

• On your device: Goals, preferences, menu scan history
• On our servers: Usage counts (device ID + usage timestamps), temporary job data
• Not stored: Menu photos are processed and discarded

Retention

• On-device data remains on your device until you clear it or uninstall the app
• Operational and transaction-related records may be retained as needed for billing, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, and audit requirements

Refund Requests (Apple App Store)

When you request a refund from Apple, Apple may ask for additional context to evaluate the request. If enabled in our payment infrastructure, we may provide limited purchase-consumption signals via RevenueCat to Apple for that purpose. Apple remains the decision-maker for refund outcomes.

Your Rights

• Delete local data: Use "Clear History" in Settings, or uninstall the app

• No account needed: We don't require registration or personal information

Children's Privacy

Order Sensei is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

We may update this policy. Significant changes will be noted in the app.
